Beta Testers Love the New Santa Fe Weather App

25 People Tested the App for Two Weeks
After two weeks of beta testing, I'm excited to share that the upcoming Santa Fe Weather App received overwhelmingly positive feedback from local users.
Before releasing the app to the public, I invited a group of volunteers from the Santa Fe Weather community to put it through its paces. Their mission was simple: use the app as part of their daily routine, look for bugs, suggest improvements, and tell me honestly what worked—and what didn't.
Their feedback has been invaluable.
Easy to Use
One of the biggest goals when designing the app was to make it simple and intuitive. Thankfully, the beta testers agreed.
100% of testers said the app was Easy or Very Easy to navigate.
Whether checking the hourly forecast before heading to work, viewing radar, or reading my daily forecast discussion, users found the app straightforward and easy to use.
A Professional Look and Feel
Presentation matters, and the feedback here was encouraging as well.
86% of testers rated the overall appearance of the app as Excellent, while the remaining testers rated it as Good.
Creating an app that not only delivers accurate information but also looks polished was a priority throughout development.
Accurate Forecasts
The most important feature of any weather app is the forecast itself.
93% of beta testers rated the forecast accuracy as Good or Excellent during the testing period.
Because the app is focused specifically on Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, it offers detailed local analysis that national weather apps often can't provide.
Would Users Subscribe?
One of the questions I was most interested in asked whether people would subscribe to Santa Fe Weather Pro, which unlocks premium forecasting tools and seasonal features.
The response exceeded my expectations.
93% of beta testers said they would definitely or probably subscribe.
That tells me there is real value in providing deeper local weather information that goes beyond a typical weather app.
Would They Recommend It?
Perhaps the most meaningful question on the survey asked testers how likely they would be to recommend the app to friends and family.
The average response was an impressive 9.6 out of 10.
For a brand-new app, that's incredibly encouraging.
What Beta Testers Had to Say
The written comments were just as rewarding as the survey scores.
Here are a few that stood out:
"The local focus is invaluable."
"Tons of information, very well presented. It's so difficult to get accurate weather information here. I think this is a great addition!"
"The forecast analysis is something I don't get from paid versions of other national weather apps."
"It's so accurate!"
"I loved having such an accurate local forecast updated so often! "
"I love the layout and how much information is available without feeling overwhelming."
Reading comments like these confirmed exactly why I wanted to build this app—to create a weather resource designed specifically for our community.
Making the App Even Better
Beta testing wasn't just about collecting compliments.
Testers also identified bugs, suggested new features, and pointed out areas where the app could be improved.
Those suggestions resulted in numerous updates, including interface improvements, additional forecast information, notification fixes, and several behind-the-scenes enhancements that make the app more reliable.
I'm grateful to everyone who took the time to test the app and share honest feedback. Their input has helped shape the final product.
Almost Ready for Launch
The Santa Fe Weather App is currently in the final stages of approval for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Once it's available, you'll have access to detailed local forecasts, hourly and 10-day forecasts, interactive radar, weather alerts, wildfire information, forecast discussions, climate data, and much more—all designed specifically for Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.
Thank you again to all of the beta testers who helped make this possible. I can't wait to share the finished app with everyone very soon!
